Workouts, getting one in as a mom is hard to do. Every mother has a hectic lifestyle. From waking up and getting the kids to school, to getting them to sleep, your day is full to the brim. It may seem like there is no you time. Staying fit is on everyone’s list of things to do, so here five ways you can make that happen. These workout ideas for moms are easy and best of all, no childcare needed! The healthier you are, the easier it is to keep up with the kids.

Here’s how to make weight loss for women, especially moms, easier.

Get the Kids Involved

Play a game of tag, a game of basketball or just have a dance off in the living room. On rainy days you can even use a Kinect video game system to get your heart pumping. The park is also a tangible option. It offers endless opportunities for moms who want to get lean. Your kids are safe and entertained within eyesight, so you can do pull-ups on the monkey bars, or whatever else you please. This is a great way for you to stay fit AND spend time with the kids at the same time, two birds with one stone!

Naptime, Use It!

If your kids are still young enough to take naps, then this is the perfect time to get in a workout. What other time in the day are your kids sleeping and you aren’t about to collapse from exhaustion? Naptime gives you the chance finish housework, pay bills, make important phone calls, watch your favorite inappropriate TV show, or get in a workout.  If you don’t own a piece of workout equipment, you could use a fitness DVD instead, a website, or even some yoga or sit-ups.

Clean The House

You rarely find someone who enjoys house work, but it is one of those necessary evils. It has to be done. So make the best of it, housework can be a great workout. A 20-minute power cleanup can burn over 150 calories if you kick it into high speed. Other chores like vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing windows, shampooing carpets or even putting away laundry can burn scores of calories and give your muscles a nice workout as well. The kids can also help in this situation, if you disguise a chore as a fun task, they will be eager to help.

Grab a couple on friends who are also moms, and make an event of working out! Jogging strollers are perfect for this exact situation. You can jog around the block with everyone in tow. Older kids can tag along on skates or scooters, making it fun and inclusive for everyone.

Make Time

Mothers don’t just have time lying around. If you really want to get in a workout, make the time! It might seem hard at first, but after a while you get better at time management and everything goes as smoothly as clockwork. There are really simple ways that we can get exercise throughout the day, so just schedule them in. When making a schedule for your day be sure to include a workout! We all make time for the things we think are important, so start including a workout.
